Claus Garden

This spacious house with large airy rooms and surrounded by beautiful flower and spice gardens is owned by an Indo-German couple, Omana and Claus. They settled here in 1984 and, in 2006, built this beautiful home. The homestay is only 10 minutes away from the Kumily bus stand. There are coffee plantations around; you will be visited by butterflies, birds, black monkeys and giant squirrels.

The house has huge rooms, spacious bathrooms and large verandahs. The water comes from the couple’s well. The solar water heating system ensures you get round-the-clock hot water. The common living room is also a recreation area – you can enjoy internet, library and there are many indoor games, too.

The roof top terrace is ideal for practicing yoga and Ayurveda. We provide free tour assistance and sight-seeing. We can organise guided tours to plantations and spice gardens and trekking to the reserve. Car rentals and airport pick-ups and drop-offs are available.

For breakfast, there’s Continental as well as Kerala breakfast to choose form. You also get the day’s choice of fresh fruits. The calm weather and the serene environs will soothe your mind and body.

With the guidance of the forest department, we can arrange for jeep safaris, elephant rides and trekking tours.
