Green view Homestay, just outside the Periyar Wild life sanctuary, is about two km away form Kumily. The rooms come with common and private balconies. You can watch time pass by as you just stand there on the balcony. The baths are spacious and well-equipped with the latest toiletries. There’s satellite TV in all the rooms. Our car park is huge and expansive.
We serve delicious homemade food to our guests. Tourists can learn about Indian recipes at our cooking classes. You can avail of our laundry facilities. The Periyar sanctuary’s flora is a mix of semi evergreen and moist deciduous forests. The artificial lake in the centre of the sanctuary is a place for boating, speed-boating and bamboo rafting. The hills around it are full of trekking routes and nature trails. You can foray into the forest on elephants as well as jeeps. Set up camps in the jungle and spend a night one with nature.
You can visit spices plantations in Kumily, and buy some, too. It’s even better to visit a factory where you can see how spices are cleaned and packaged. You can do the same in a tea factory.
We can arrange backwater cruises in Alleppey and Kumarakom for you. It is about four-six hours from Thekkady. On a houseboat you can view village life up close.
